Art
Aims:
We want to create skilled, disciplined artists that value, not only their own work, but others too. We offer the children a safe space to develop their own style, make mistakes and learn from them. We aim for children at Harry Gosling to understand the importance of Art; not only as artists themselves, but also as world citizens.
How Art is taught:
At Harry Gosling Primary School we teach Art with a skills based approach which draws on and builds upon prior knowledge in various aspects of Art and Design. These comprise of three projects a year based on either; Drawing, Painting, or 3D sculpture. We believe that Art and Design can inspire an infinite amount of learning, so children are then given the opportunity to continue practicing these skills in other areas of the curriculum, as well as in some of our community and whole school projects.
